Sony has revealed a brand-new “summer sale” promotion that will result in savings on PlayStation 5 systems in India. Some PS5 slim versions are eligible for the limited-time discount, which reduces prices by Rs. 5,000. Starting on Thursday, April 17, the PS5 summer discount will run until May 14 or until supplies run out.
PS5 Summer Sale Details
The offer includes a discount on the PS5 slim digital edition (CFI-2008B) and the PS5 slim physical edition (CFI-2008A). The retail price of the physical edition, which includes a Blu-Ray disc drive, was Rs. 54,990, but during the sale, it was only Rs. 49,990. In contrast, the digital edition is priced at Rs. 39,990 instead of the normal Rs. 44,990 and also receives a discount of Rs. 5,000.
Amazon, Blinkit, Croma, Flipkart, Reliance, Sony Center, Vijay Sales, and other partnering merchants are currently offering the summer sale discount. On May 14th, or until supplies last, the promotion will expire. The PSVR2, PS Portal remote player, and PS5 accessories are not included in the sale.
Following US President Donald Trump’s announcement of broad tariffs on US imports, Sony increased the price of the PS5 in several important markets of Europe, the UK, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA), Australia, and New Zealand starting on April 14. This was followed by the PS5 discount in India.
The parent company of PlayStation increased the suggested retail price for the console due to a “challenging economic environment,” rising inflation, and volatile exchange rates. The cost of the PS5 has not yet increased in the US or India.
With a selling price of Rs. 54,990 for the disc edition and Rs. 44,990 for the digital edition, the PS5 slim is both lighter and slimmer than the original PS5. On April 5, 2024, the small variant of the console replaced the earlier PS5 model and went on sale in India.
