Split Fiction on Switch 2 and Switch
EA announced that Switch owners will be able to download and play Split Fiction locally with a Switch 2 user in a blog post outlining the game’s functionality for the Switch 2.
“With just one copy of the game, GameShare will allow owners of Nintendo Switch 2s to invite another player to play with them over a local wireless connection. The blog post stated that this “other player” may own both a Nintendo Switch and a Nintendo Switch 2.
The cooperative game may only be shared with another player on their Nintendo Switch 2, according to EA’s earlier announcement of Split Fiction for the Switch successor.
Notably, Nintendo has said that only Switch 1 games can be transferred from a Switch 2 to the hybrid system. Games can be received by any Nintendo Switch or Switch 2 system, however they can only be shared by Nintendo Switch 2 systems. Only Nintendo Switch-compatible titles can be sent to Nintendo Switch systems, according to the Nintendo website’s page outlining the GameShare feature.

Cross-play and Friend’s Pass compatibility for Split Fiction for the Nintendo Switch 2 have also been confirmed. With the use of Friend’s Pass, a feature in cooperative games from Hazelight Studios, two players can play the game online together with just one copy required. With the aid of an EA account, gamers can enjoy the game together on PC, PS5, Xbox Series S/X, and Nintendo Switch 2 thanks to cross-play.
